About Peter Marsman

Peter Marsman views the world as his canvas and uses the camera as his paintbrush to capture its beauty.

He studied photography at the Nova Scotia Community College, honed his skills as a photographer with both daily newspapers, managed a retail photo operation and attended Henson College of Dalhousie University before launching his professional career  eleven years ago.  He has become renowned for his sensitive and creative treatment of subjects. Whether it’s commercial photography for Parks Canada and The Province of Nova Scotia, still photography for film documentaries, or promotional work for performing artists, Peter personalizes his photographs leaving his clients with an enjoyable experience.

His portraits have been selected for Atlantic and National professional photography Exhibitions.   He was also the recipient of the 2003 Portia White emerging artist award, designated by filmmaker Dr. Sylvia Hamilton presented at the Province House.

He is a portrait specialist, working to further immerse himself in the technology and creative aspect of his art.  Peter has traveled to Falmouth, Massachusetts to study with some of North America's finest at the New England Institute of Professional Photography.

A Naturalist at heart, parks provide him inspiration for his work.  He experience's nature through recreational activities such as canoeing, fishing and hiking, and is renewed to creatively capture the wonder of life using his lenses.
